Remembrance Day at The Harvey Centre
9 November 2015: On Friday, local school children were invited to The Harvey Centre to create a giant poppy wreath, ahead of this Sunday’s Remembrance Day.
Around 30 children from Little Parndon Primary School (years four and five) were invited to the centre to create the wreath, which will be displayed in the centre for a week. Local veterans and the Royal British Legion were also in attendance.
Shoppers are invited to view the giant wreath over the next week and also to donate to the British Legion in the Poppy Appeal.
Bryan Young, Centre Manager, said: “Every year, we welcome the British Legion to the centre to raise money for their Poppy Appeal. This year, we wanted to go one step further and involve the local community. We were delighted to work with Little Parndon Primary School to create this giant wreath, which will be displayed in the centre for all our shoppers to see.”
