This is the one and only guide to use that will ensure you have a perfect day and night to have fun in Harlow this Christmas.
It’s the moment which officially informs us that Christmas is just around the corner. It makes walking home from work a little brighter and the guilt of having that extra glass of mulled wine disappears. This years light switch on is happening today (18th November) with carols and activities preceding the turning on of lights on the tree in Market Square, Harlow from 4pm to 5pm.
Centre manager Bryan Young, said:
“Christmas is always an exciting time and this year, we’re going bigger and better. We’re joining up with the Water Gardens to ensure Harlow’s Christmas Light Switch On is the best yet and, with our magical grotto and late night shopping evenings, we’re giving our shoppers the best festive shopping experience.”
Don’t despair if you can’t make the light switch on as The Harvey Centre will be turning all wintery and Lapland-like this Saturday the 19th November. From 11am – 4pm The Harvey Centre will become Harlow’s answer to Lapland with a variety of festive activities taking place. For starters there will be a Balloon Modeller and the famous Harvey The Hippo will be in attendance but there’s loads more. Bring the whole family for a fun day out and to get a head start on the Christmas shopping.
The centre is spoiling us this Christmas by having a grotto open everyday right until Christmas Eve, so take your little ones and make their day by meeting Santa and having a photo taken with him. They’re offering various packages too which include photos, keyrings, magnets and snow frames – the perfect gift for your Nan and Grandad.
If you fancy something a little different this festive season, check out Cork and Skewer’s Greek night. There’s meze, music and of course dancing. So say ‘Opa’ this festive season and let’s see your inner Zorba the Greek come out. Greek nights are on 2nd and 22nd December – book early to ensure you don’t miss out on this family warming night. Kopiaste!
Christmas wouldn’t be complete without the traditional trip to the panto and this year the pants of choice is Beauty and the Beast. Harlow favourites Harlow Kevin James and Jimmy Burton-Iles will be taking to the stage for another year to wow the audience with their comedy, antics and entertainment. It’s a must see!
Are you looking for the perfect venue for your Christmas party? Or fancy a festive romantic night away without the kids? Or maybe you want to treat a family member to something special? Or maybe you want to spice things up at one of Park Inn’s Cabaret nights? We’ve attached their Christmas brochure here for you to nosey through.
The Holidays are definitely coming now we know that the Coca Cola truck will be making a stop in Harlow and for many of us, Christmas doesn’t start until the Coca-Cola Christmas Truck appears on our television screens and in our towns. When you visit, you’ll have the chance to wander through an enchanted winter wonderland, before having your photo taken with the iconic truck. The truck will be making its stop in Harlow on the 7th December.
We’ll be running an exciting Twitter competition on this day too, so make sure you’re following us to be in with a chance of winning.
