Or, imagine that it’s 5:35 p.m, and you’re meeting your fella for a rare date night out. You’re still at your desk, and if you don’t leave in 10 minutes, you’ll be late.
Frantically applying makeup, changing your shoes and volumising your hair in the office bathroom like Clark Kent. Well, Superman’s got nothing on us! What can you do to quickly and easily refresh your makeup, and maybe look a bit more glam? We pinned down beauty and make up artist Jolie Costello for her top tips.
Transitioning from day to night is about being that little bit bolder whether it be a nice lipstick, adding a cat eye or chiseling those cheekbones, these are the three main areas that will bring out the face and make it look camera ready!
If you’re really stuck for time and have less than five minutes to spare, treat the lips as priority. Turn that nude or light-pink lip gloss into something dark and bold. Alternatively, ombre glitter lips are huge right now, learn how to get the look here: http://www.superdrug.com/blog/tutorials/how-to-ombre-glitter-lips
Transitioning from day to night depends on the person! For myself, I tend to add a darker colour to the lid and more liner and mascara. I love popping an eye palette in to my handbag as it’s compact and ensures you have everything you need for this transition.
Its simple! Add some darker liner to your bottom lash line, and smudge with your fingertip. Smokey, sultry and so easy.
A little bit of blush works wonders for taking your look from day to night; a spot of colour and a flirty flush look to make sure your evening – whether it be your Christmas party or a date night – is as bright and confident as your are. Try a cheek palette – they’re brilliant, compact and easily takes you from day to night.
Don’t go for the cake look and pile on more and more makeup; instead, refresh what’s already on and just enhance it. Refresh with a facial spritz (Magicool Body & Face Cooler is a steal and works wonders) or a water mist and plump up your lips with a dry toothbrush – don’t forget to pop on a thin layer of lip balm afterwards. Let it soak in whilst you do your eyes and cheeks and then pop that lippie on.
